Modernization can be a daunting prospect for any technology officer or CEO, this is especially true when all operations rely heavily on everything digital working well and communicating without major issues or shutdown (yikes). Just the prospect of an interruption in production can be enough to keep the technology department from pursuing much-needed updates that can boost efficiency and productivity for everyone from the top down in their company.
Then, of course, once the steps are taken to implement these major changes, there is still the task of retraining everyone on the use of the new systems and how they work together. 3. Project Definition – We will ensure that everyone understands what the project parameters and goals are.
4. Analysis Design – We will start designing and laying out a plan of action.
5. Develop – We will put our plans to work developing the best program to meet the goals put before us.
6. Test – We will put our developed software to a test to ensure everything has been laid out appropriately and that it meets the initial needs decided on in steps 1 and 2. If any kinks need to be worked out, that is done at this time.
7. Deploy – Once testing has been proven successful it is time to launch!
Note: Steps 4 through 7 are iterative and agile.
8. Lessons Learned – We will not leave you on your own just because the new and improved technology is in place. It is important that the lessons learned from the modernization experience are reflected on and shared with your team.
9. Teaching Staff – We’re still here! We’ll help you teach your staff not only how to work with the new implementations, but how they will help everyone as you move forward.
10. Sign Off – At this point in the project you will sign off on the work done and happily go on using your newly implemented systems.
11. Maintenance – We’re not done yet. In this phase of the project we will maintain your new systems to ensure they are working their best.
12. Coaching – As new projects come in and needs change, coaching may be in order to keep everyone fresh on the system and ensure that the program is used in the most effective way for the company.
13. Continuing Monitoring – We’ll keep an eye on things for you so you don’t have to be concerned with how things are running. If any issues arise we will notify you and help to come up with a solution.
Note: Steps 11 through 13 are recurring and should be ongoing to have a modern application that continues to run well.
